The Festival Nottingham Part 1

We are over midways through The Festival Nottingham. After 3 days of play I have played 230£ 8-game, 120£ Pokerlistings Championship, 120£ Freeze Turbo KO , 450£ Main 1B and 120£ PLO 4/5/6dc PLO. No big success when it comes to getting rich, but I cashed 23/383 in Pokerlistings Championship and FT in Turbo KO for 8/95. Now it’s Friday and I am ready for some more bullets in Main Event.

I arrived from Gatwick with train late Monday. Fun fact is that last time I was at Dusk Till Dawn was back in 2009, when The Norwegian Championship was held here. They still had me in theire computersystem.

Tuesday was the first day with tournaments for me, and I have been looking forward to the 230£ 8-game with 1 re-entry. Perfect buy in for beginners in mixed like my self. The field has everything from very beginners to some of the best in the world, Nothing interesting happened and I was killed a bit in 2-7 after lateregg had closed, and then the rest went away in Stud after I got crippled and had to bring in the rest of my chips in the next hand.

I just made the lateregg in Pokerlistings Championship Day 1C and this went way better. We played down to 15% itm, so 21 did make it to Day 2. When we were on the stonebubble I had around average and was happy with that. But then I got dealt KK in what would be the last hand of the day. Utg+1 opens, I 3bett from SB, he jams 20bb with AJ and i almost doubled to 2.1 mill :)

On Wednesday we started 57 entries left of the 383 in Pokerlistings Championship 12.00 clock. The structure in this tournament was really nice. Since they turned back the clock to 15k/30k (1C ended on 25k/50k), we had lots of BB to play with. It did drop down to 24bb at some points, but still a very good 120£ tournament!

For me Day 2 didnt start so good. I played a hand bad, I think. UTG+1 opens 2bb, I 3bett AQo in CO to 6,2bb, when he jams 18bb total, I choose to call. I do think that flatting his open utg+1 may be better for keeping the variance lower. He had AK and I was down to 20bb. No worries to drop down, but unfortunately after that I was card dead, but hanged around with my 10-14bb stack until we did a redraw with 27 players left, last 3 tables. I got a very social table, with Airdraken to my left and GJreggie to my right. Nothing happens for my part, and I finally shoves utg super short with 57cc and 5,5bb vs AJo on button. We do not hit and off to the rail for 23.place.

GJreggie finished the best place from the stream (with AApom-patch on the feature table) in 14.place. GG!

After this it was back to the bar waiting for the Turbo KO 120£ freeze at 17.00. Both Tobias and I have brought Backgammon boards to have on the rail. Perfect entertainement while waiting for tournaments to start and a good social meetingpoint in the bar :)

The knockout was a perfect evening tournament, with a bit more beers around the tables and good athmosphere ;) The KO was flat, 50£ pr head and the rest 50£ to the pricepool. I think it was 9 itms, and when we started the finaltable it was with many friends of the stream, Tobias, me, Brenden (Stolben) and Cash4King on Twitch.

Brenden was a big chippie when we started the FT. Then he runned very very bad, and doubled up so many people. I was not one of them unfortunately, so i died with a classic flip on 8.place. Tobias ended up winning the tournament. And I guess this 120£ tournament had the biggest and best rail at DTD this year :) So many Norwegians and UK twitchers on the rail, singing and having a good time!

After the tournament we went back to Crown Plaza to play Codenames :)

On Thursday it was time for the Main Event 450£ with many flights and 1 re-entry pr flight. I started on the same table as 100hourchallenge aka Erik Hamre, but I get moved to another table quickly. I get a nice start, winning some pots and my stack goes quickly from 200k startstack to 280k. But then i get totally card dead for what feels like ever. The blinds go up and I get shorter. Around 18.00 I get AA and knocks out a player that is shorter than me :) Get changed table to Anders Wattengårds table. Going to break 19.00 with highest peak, 325k, 16bb ish. Unfortunately after the break I double up a shorter player with AK vs QQ, 9bb left and I die shortly after.

After the Main I join the 4/5/6c dealers choice 120£ tournament. I bust the first bullet with AAxxxx trippel suited, hehe. But double on the second bullet. This game is so funny to play live, even though most of the UK people choose to play 6-cards and I choose 4 ;) I do die at a point, but we hang around on the rail a bit for Vegard still in the tournament.
